Chapter 7 - Adventures in Bodybuilding
This chapter was very straightforward and got to the main point about how cells gather together to form our body by the way they interact and communicate with one another. It's amazing how cells come together to form something so difficult and big like our body because cells are so tiny. I didn't know that if some cells are removed from your body, you could die! This demonstrates how important cells are for the human body or an animal body because cells help maintain healthy bodies. I found the idea of biological glue funny because it's similar to the glue we at school, because it sticks things together lol. Biological glue holds cells together so that they wont fall apart or escape, so cells will be able to work together and form our body correctly. I find the human body quite interesting and the process of cells remind me of a big family that sticks together to make sure that everything goes right, they work as a group to solve their problems and take care of each other. The idea of cells in the human body is very fascinating it makes me want to learn/research more about it. There are many different types of cells but the process of cells in the human body is more exciting than the idea of other cells like prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells. The experiment with the sponge was SHOCKING! The sponge was broken down into separate cells but then all of a sudden the cells came together to form a new sponge!! This exhibits that cells have the talent of talking to each other and establishing ways to work with one another. The sponge was like a magical process! Also I can't believe billions of years ago we didn't have enough oxygen, which we breathe in everyday and is an important factor for life. After oxygen increased the existence of bodies also increased! thank god for oxygen. (:

Yeah Kevin, THANK GOD FOR OXYGEN.
ReplyDeleteOxygen is the sole reason I was able to live past my first day of being born. I was born in a fatal condition, and if the doctors had not given my surgery to insert a tube which transferred oxygen to my lungs, I would not be alive today and after reading Shubin's theory on bodies and oxygen, I understand that my body wouldn't have been able to support it's different parts and the collagen without oxygen, leading to death.
yeah sasha, i didnt know if cells were removed, we couldd diee!!
