Chapter Two

This chapter was very informative in showing the similarities in all different types of living creatures. The fact that Owen, in the 1800s, discovered that the bone structures are along the same lines; one bone, two bones, lotsa blobs.... is astounding to me. It was interesting to see the diagrams of this in the book, and shocking to see the truth of the matter that are arms are similar to the arms of dinosaurs and even wings of bats. Darwin's ideas were similar to Owen's, only he was able to make precise predictions. This is amazing, to think that people, back before our great technological advances, made such intelligent and still-true predictions about their scientific advances. Tiktaalik, on another hand, was a crazy fish! Even though this fish is 375-million years old, it was still capable of doing push ups!! (Dang, i cant even do that). Also, this fish showed examples of Owens theory, which was proven to apply to many different life forms. This chapter has made me admire fish even more, especially the super-amazing push uping type.
