chapt. 5

I thought it was interesting how us, as a reader, can see Shubin's growth as a scientist. From previous chapters it took him awhile to adjust to what many people find grotesque or disgusting. For me, i find cutting into bodies, heads, or whatever sort still quite disturbing. At least now, Shubin does not feel the same way and instead finds a deep fascination. Shubin...you've become "hardcore" indeed! Studying head is quite fascinating. Shubin's explanation is interesting and resourceful. However, i cannot lie, the entire time i was thinking about inception, how the mind effects everything. (Especially since he keeps saying CONception, which my mind directs its attention to INception) It is just soo amazing what our minds can do and how it can formulate so many functions in our daily lives. I don't know if this section is interesting in a good way or bad way, since my mind kinda got distracted easily but at the same time intrigued by the topic.
