Chapter 2

This chapter was definitely interesting but at the same time, it left me with all kinds of questions. It was interesting how we have the same kind of limbs as other animals like birds, lizards, penguins, and seals. But then when the book started to talk about fishes, I was blown away. It made sense that mammals and lizards can have similar limbs, but having similar limbs as fishes are just confusing yet interesting.

One question that I had was that if we came from the same ancestors, then why is it that some fishes have similar limbs as us and some don't? And if one kind of fish evolved with limbs, how come other fishes couldn't do that? It was really difficult to understand. When it talked about the streams of ancient time where fishes ate fishes, I didn't understand how one would come out of the water. How would the fishes evolve to live on that when they are not suitable above water. But the lung fish made sense. Maybe those fishes developed lungs throughout time.

Although this chapter was kind of hard to understand, it was a truly fascinating chapter. Saying how fishes were able to do push-ups was funny. I also learned that some fishes do have lungs. It is really interesting to think of fishes as our ancestors.
