As i began reading chapter 2, i was bit disappointed. I was intrigued by his previous discovery that i expected an immediate correlation between the chapters. But nevertheless, Shubin still managed to captivate me as a reader. To me, I personally can't imagine cutting into a human who was once alive, doing the things we all do normally. So i guess i found similarities in Shubin's experiences. I found it especially interesting how he connected his experience the main topic about hands. Shubin, as a writer, understands the importance of relating and capturing the readers attention. The points he makes about the hands is remarkably insightful. He is able to push the readers mind into seeing multiple interpretations about the hands. A fish doing pushups...I'd like to see that!

Haha (: I'm not the only one who thought a fish doing push-ups was entertaining. That part got a chuckle out of me.
