To me chapter two started to be a little dull but as it moved to the layout of the human hand i could not put the book down.Shubin sure does make me draw special attention to my hands. though i have not seen the inside of my hand i can see it so clearly as the way Shubin describes. The actions that show us this served help full for me to develop the image in my mind like when he says "Bend your wrist". When Shubin moves on to describe how our limbs have been seen in so many animals I notice that the diagram next to it says just that. I usually look at the diagrams before I read the page and I must say that the diagrams are both help full and interesting.
Another part I personally was very interested in was the Eusthenopteron. Up till the word Quebec I wasn't much interested in it however that word sparked in interest. It so happens that when reading this I actually was in Quebec! However I would never have imagined what i was in the same area of the discoverances of fossils years ago.
Though these topics seen like a hard boring read Shubin doesn't make it boring. As he goes on in chapter two I stay tuned to the new fossils, links and diagrams easily. It really caught my attention at the end when he says "we are not separate from the world". Shubin gave a thought provoking argument and as he says we will learn more to this as the book continues.
