Chapter 7
I agree with Caroline, you don't really know how your own body is all put together and don't realize how much tiny little molecules and cells make up our bodies. The comparison between bridges and our bones helped me know just how much something so big need tiny molecules to help it function. Even though I know that humans are new to Earth compared to everything else in that is on Earth, the chart on page 121 made me realize just how new we were. The fact that we are so close to the "today" part of the chart was shocking. And I also agree with Caroline and Kimmy, being a student of Shubin's seems tough since he makes you identify organs just by looking at them on a slide.

I agree with what you said about how we don't realize the connection of our own body. But i feel that helping us readers appreciate how many parts and significant functions our body obtains is one of his main goals for writing this book. His book surely helps us readers appreciate and be thankful for the simple things such as cells.
