Adventures in Bodybuilding

What I found very fascinating about this chapter is how Shubin uses analogies and makes reference to certain movies. By doing such he creates a connection with the reader on a level that bridges the all knowing scientist and the average Joe. By using something that most not if all people have seen at one point in their life, the certain movies, he explains some things that scientists and knowledge persons would be able to do. This is important to understanding the chapter and the book as well. The references of these movies shows that Shubin is either a well educated man, seeing many movies and being able to recall then as he wrote this piece of literature or is a well researched man who took the time to find these movies out of hundreds that bridged a gap for the reader and the upper level text.
