chapter.5

Shubin started off the chapter with his experience around 25 dead bodies and how it gave willies to him and how he was holding half of the hand in his hand. It gave me bit of sense of humor about his stoic tone as he speaks of such a horrifying story. Then, he tells us how our head bone plates were separated in our childhood and incites my curiosity to touch my baby's head. Furthermore, he goes on explained about how he made the connection between shark/worm to humans. It was pretty interesting how he connected the dot and explained how those fish gills developed into our organs. As he has shown in the diagram, it was amazing how parts of our bodies have become as what it is in today from the jawless ancestors. Also, the number of our muscles used as we do single motion was pretty interesting, too.
