Just by reading the title, Adventures in Bodybuilding, you would infer that the chapter would be about how you can build your body. However, instead it basically explained to the readers the formation of the human body. Shubin explains how the tiny single-celled organisms must learn to cooperate to eventually come together to make a new individual or organism. It was very interesting to learn about the skeletal structure's details and how each individual act in a separate way different from others. It was interesting to see from H.V.P Wilson's experiment that we are similar to creatures such as sponges or even placozoans. Their cells have a divion of labor and communicate with each other like the cells in our bodies. It was surprising to see that the sponge had similar features as the human body.
I'm looking forward to reading Chapter Eight: Making Scents.
