Finding Your Inner Fish

I opened this book with a mind of negativity, all I could think about is the fun I could be having instead of reading a book, and a book about science no less. As I looked at the title all I could imagine was all the confusing terms I would have to learn and try to make sense of. But from the time I opened the book I was enthralled to learn about the journey Neil had to make to discover a connection to our past. He brings the readers into his life, his thoughts and the thrill of a new discovery. He tells of a fossil that displays the possibility that land animals could have evolved from a creature with fins and gills. Through his venture and discovery the readers are able to learn of the incredible patience of a paleontologist and the extreme guessing they have to endure in order to find a fossil site. Neil provides an opportunity for readers to experience as he did and writes in a way in which even young readers like me can understand.
