Chapter 4: Teeth Everywhere

Chapter 4 was very interesting. I was able to learn more about my own teeth and appreciate them. Who would have thought that teeth can tell someone so much about the evolution of animals? Because teeth are the most easily fossilized, paleontologists are able to learn a lot from just teeth. I thought that his stories were very entertaining. Shubin not only shared his findings and experiences but also presented them in an entertaining way by adding jokes. I was very fascinated by the tritheledonts. I didn't even know an animal can be half mammal and half reptile! I thought it was interesting to see that a tooth can be found in an "amor." I learned that hair, feathers, teeth, and fur all develop in similar ways. Overall, this chapter was very interesting and exciting to learn about teeth. I'm looking forward to reading the chapter 5. (:
