Chapter 3: Handy Genes
This chapter was a little more complicated but the pictures were once again helpful, for example on page 50, it showed the effects of having an extra ZPA and how the bones create a mirror image of bones. It showed how the fingers were duplicated. As I read through this chapter, I found it sort of interesting that many animals have the hedgehog gene just like humans and that it creates a big impact in the formation of human limbs and hands. I found it disturbing that they were experimenting with embryos of animals, and that they were creating mutants as well, but whatever, I got over that when I finished the chapter. Anyways, chapter 3 was sort of harder than chapters 1 and 2, the pictures do make it easier though and I hope chapter 4 will be easier.
