Chapter Three;

Ever since I've studied science, DNA has always been an interesting topic to me and it always captured my attention that something so small can create life and the people I'm surrounded with. Shubin tries to focus on what makes up DNA and how it affects everything at the egg level. Another point he is trying to figure out is that even if everyone has so many different cells in their body, how can all the different functional cells contain the same DNA? It made me rethink my knowledge on the human body and how cells work. The only cells that stood out to me as I read through this chapter was red blood cells, I never really thought about other cells that function throughout our body.

One thing that kept me wondering was what kind of tissue was being used as ZPA because I know there are different types of tissues that help let the body function daily and I did not discover what kind of tissue Shubin was describing as experiments and observations were being made. But besides that, it caught my attention to know that one tiny change can affect the way a whole living organism can live and look.

Humans, chickens, flies, sharks, and skates. All different living organisms with similar DNA structure. As I was coming to the end of the chapter it made me flabbergasted and it is still hard for me to see and believe that most living animals and humans can be constructed the same but look so different.

Chapter four, I'm coming for you.
