Anyway, the reading on chapter three was actually a surprise. From the previous chapters, everything was based on the fact that there was physical evidence that linked humans to fishes. But, in chapter three, DNA was brought into the picture. As small as DNA is already, Shubin adds that animals and humans alike have similar DNA structure. But, when one change happens, the entire result changes. It's amazing how something so small can make such a huge difference in the outcome.
Reading through the experiments was pretty attention catching. There are some experiments that I've thought about doing, but never to the extent of Saunders and Zwilling's experiments. I thought it was a good inside look on some of the experiments we could be doing in AP Bio over the course of the year.
This book is getting better and better.
