♦ Chapter 3 ♦

I have to admit chapter three was much more complicated than chapters one and two. I got confused at times and had to reread the sentences. I thank Shubin for keeping the vocabulary simple otherwise I probably would have felt lost. Even though it was confusing it was still interesting. The most interesting part was the Sonic Hedgehog gene. It’s amazing that just one gene can have so much affected on growing limbs. It’s interesting how it can create“mirror-image duplication.” I agree with Kiana, it is sad and inhumane that they used animal embryos. Although, I don’t really feel that way about the chicken embryos since there are so many and we eat the eggs constantly. At least they didn’t go to waste and helped find out important information.

  1. I agree 100%. The chapter was slightly difficult to read. I had to ask my mom for a little help. But I also don't think that it is necessarily inhuamne... I mean we obviously need research and we are going to need test subjects.. So I am glad that it is just an animal embryo and not a human embryo.
