Chapter Three

One of the parts got me all exciting was the experiment initially done by Mary Gasseling in John Saunder’s laboratory. I thought this experiment was the most interesting part throughout the chapter. The process of the experiment was took(delete) “a little patch of tissue from what will become the pinky side of the limb bud, early in development, and transplant it on the opposite side, just under where the first finger will form” (49). The result was that “the wing developed normally except that it also had a full duplicate set of digits” (49). I would really want to participate in the experiment with Mary Gasseling if I could, because I would like to see how the chicken’s wings grow and develop. I thought this was a really special experiment and I really wanted to see what the chicken would be look like, and how the chicken walked with two fingers. It was hard to imagine the chicken had a copy of fingers, and I hope I could see the real chicken with full duplicate set of digits.

If the experiment is really successful and under prefect controlled in the future can you imagine what will happen to the human? Maybe the scientists will put some genes that can develop wings on human’s back. Then human don’t need transportation anymore, because they can just fly anywhere they want. Also the scientists might develop other genes like double arms or heads for the animals. What the world will be? Superman and monster will be beck! And I don’t think the human will be human anymore!
