chapter 3

Chapter three contained a lot of material that was hard to grasp but very interesting. Though at first I feel a little lost when reading by the end of the chapter the points are always made.
The title itself was a hook, Genes to me are very interesting how we are composed of such essential qualities interest me. Also how such Shubin gives attention to such small yet important things;like the cell! This book clearly shows you how much just one can do for you and that is why this book is so interesting. I also liked it when Shubin made note of of showing clearly how we are related to other animals after he explains the concept. For example when he is explaining limbs the diagram and then the contrast to whale flippers all made sense. I had no idea was ZPA was before this chapter and I wouldn't have understood it without Shubins clear way of explaining.
Overall this chapter was very interesting even though the subjects were hard read.
