CH. 4: Teeth Everywhere

Throughout chapter 4 we learned a lot about teeth even though in anatomical studies, a lot of time is not spent on that topic. The main use of teeth is to help shred/ chew food for creatures who don't have limbs to do so, but it also helps us chew as well. I learned that by examining an animals teeth one can tell the animals diet by seeing if the animals teeth are smooth, jagged, chipped, etc. Also by the teeth of an animal being so strong and sturdy it helps paleontologists show how feeding came about back in the day. It is something to think about when one realizes that teeth are so delicate that one can break them if they fall but yet they can be preserved for ages.Even though this chapter was interesting in the beginning it turned out to be slow around the middle and end. It became a little boring once Shubin started talking about his time with Chuck and finding the differences with the bones. Although most of the book taught us a lot I feel as though this chapter fell a little short, but I look forward to keep reading.
