Chapter 4: Teeth Everywhere
This chapter was very informative about the different uses of teeth and the importances of them. The quote "We can learn a lot about an animal by looking at its teeth" really grabbed my attention and allowed me to grasp the significance of teeth more in depth. Before reading this chapter, I did not know that the teeth were the hardest parts of our bodies. As Shubin said, it is nice that paleontologists can use teeth as a guide when trying to find the record from fossils of different time periods. It truly amazed me when I found out that tooth development formed through two approaching layers, dividing cells, and the changing of the shape and proteins of the layers. The whole idea of teeth helped me understand why they are one of the most important parts of the human body.
