Just by looking at the cover of the book, "Your Inner Fish" by Neil Shubin, one could automatically tell that the book will be discussing the controversial view on evolution. After reading just the first couple of pages, Shubin had already made clear what his side of the argument is and his scientific views on why he believes in evolution. The way he scrutinizes every hint of evidence he finds on ancient remains of extinct fishes from billions of years ago, revealed his dedication in trying to make further advancements in this particular field. I had never really taken much interest in rocks until Shubin reinforced the fact that pieces of old fish fossils could be hidden in the very objects that are kicked or tossed aside without a second thought. His vast knowledge on where certain kinds of rocks are located and how they may be retrieved, allowed me to feel as if I was having the same hands on experience as he was during his explorations.
Already from what I have read, different questions are arising such as..could the bones that Shubin sees similarities in between humans and fishes be coincidental?..and..How can humans who are mammals, evolve from fishes who are reptiles?
I am strongly anticipating the different kinds of theories and ideas that Shubin will be introducing along the course of the book, as well as the different discoveries he made that lead him to conclude that humans had somehow evolved from fishes.
