Chapter 2: Getting a Grip

Well... reading chapter 2 in my opinion was as good as chapter 1. However reading the beginning I wanted to stop, I am not a big fan for cutting into human bodies and all. Also I am beginning to see a trend in Shubin's search for similarities rather than differences among various creatures as we can see in his support of Owen's "remarkable discovery". I was glad that Shubin talked more about the Tiktaalik in the next chapter and his examples and descriptions of the wrists and fingers were mind-blowing because who would think that by making the fingers really long you would have the hand (wing) of a bat. This chapter again impressed me and I am excited to learn more of the similarities found among us humans and our inner fish.
