The one fact that I found SUPER interesting almost to the point that it made my day was that "As we grow in the womb, our knees and elbows rotate to give us the state of affairs we see in humans today," (43). These are the facts that I was expecting and hoping for. Love it!
This chapter made me think of humans and the rest of the living world in a new way. I have always know the theory of evolution as far as I can remember, but only today have I connected it in a way that brings both sadness and joy. Could one day Homo Sapiens be the late ancestor of the new version of human beings? I have always thought that humans can't get any better. Then I realized that from the discovery of Lucy (as mentioned in the book and reflected on past knowledge) that the Homo Sapiens have evolved as Lucy was much shorter than Homo Sapiens of present time. This made the book more interesting as it made me ponder on already learned ideas in a new light.
