Ch 1: Finding your inner Fish

After reading the first chapter of the book, I was able to learn alot about the author and his ideas. While reading the first chapter, I was able to sense the author's passion for fossils and new discover. Never had I read or heard about someone who was so devoted and passionate into his career. When Neil Shubin said, "Is it any surprise that a significant fraction of dicoveries happen in deser areas?" ( 12). I was able to see that Shubin was ver observant and knew much about fossil expedition. It also amazed me how thin the chances are for finding a new discovery yet people like Shubin continue on with strong endurance. Although I had a thin knowledge of the first living species and organisms I was able to understand more clearly through just this first chapter of the book of how humans came to be formed and how we all started off the same. I am looking forward to gaining more knowlege through this book.
