Chapter 1 : Finding your inner fish

At first, when I read this book, I thought this book would be boring, because how could fishes and humans be connected? I was interesed in paleontologists and their contributions to science. I am amazed how they discover fossils and organize them by the time periods. I enjoyed reading about the discovery of the Tiktaalik, and how patient he was during the long process of discovering the identity of the creature. By reading how long it took to find fossils and determine their backround, I never knew how long it took for the paleontologists to determine one fossil, I always thought it took a sort period of time. When Shubin described his journey to achieve his goal, it definitely impressed me. It was also really interesting how he described the fishes, and how they had limbs with fingers, toes, and wrists, and ankles; linking fishes to humans. Before reading this book, I always thought that humans evovled from monkeys or gorillas, but by analysing his photographs, it makes me think that we have evovled from like fishes and sharks. I am really interested to see how the rest of the book talks about evolution.
