Chapter 3

When i started reading the third chapter i assumed had assumed that it would mainly be about the tiktaalik and its formation of genes. My guess was wrong it was mainly about the DNA and how it was like ending up with the result. Handy Genes' diagram had helped me a lot because it had explained to me that the genes are stretches of DNA. Making Hands diagram was also helpful because it showed me the development of a chicken's wing which had explained the different stages of development. Although the diagram was helpful from the same title it was the ZPA which helped me understand how the tissue duplicates. Lastly giving sharks a hand had helped me understand the difference between the treated side and the non treated side. The italicized words were very important to me because they indicated important words such as sonic hedgehog. I mainly focused on those words because the chapter would be mainly about them. As a result looking at the key elements showed me Neil Shubin's writing style. I had enjoyed reading this chapter because i actually understood DNA.
