Chapter Two: Geting A Grip

As I continued on to read chapter two of Your Inner Fish, I was surprised to read that chapter two was more interesting than chapter one. Shubin goes on to explain more about the connection between humanity and fish and how our bone structure can be linked back to his finding of the Tiktaalik. It was very interesting to read that the one bone-two bones- lotsa blobs-digits pattern of Sir Richard Owen was discovered indeed to be true within the fossil structure of the Tiktaalik. As Shubin goes more into depth about the details of our hand and wrist bones it was truly compelling to see that all of our bone details can be linked back to one fish. I was able to finally see the true connection between humans evolving from fish, and that I was finally able to envision the transformation of fish into land living animals.
