Chapter Two: Getting A Grip

While continuing with this book, I looked up "Evolutionism" in a encyclopedia. Since most people who advocate evolutionism take their stand on Darwins' evolution theory, I identified human evolutionism with Darwin's theory. But after I looked up Evolutionism in encyclopedia, I figured out Evolutionism has been approached in many different ways.
In chapter two, Shubin found a link between human and all the animals with limbs and fishes. He stated that all the creatures' limbs follow one bone-two bones-losta blobs-digits plan of limbs. In the middle of the description, Shubin added that Owen, who discovored one bone-two bones-losta blobs-digits plan of limbs, believed in creationism considering that the perfection and ideal arrangement of our body structure could only have a divine origin. It was amusing fact for me becuase that was what exactly my dad told me in my childhood . He said sticking to creationism is a better choice not only for just religious reason also for making my life easier. Also, the fact that Shubin and his co-worker Daeschler spent almost ten years for searching fish fossils was an amazement. From this, I realized aptitude and achievement have considerable correlation. Becuase analyzing bones and fossils are not intriguing to me at all and I can't even picture me doing that for that much time. I felt gratitude to them for enabling us to accept this knowledge just by reading a book. When I discovered the truth that ancient fishes were capable of doing push-ups, I thanked fishes for having better look at least now.
While reading chapter 2, I could feel Shubin's immersion in his field, because there were still plenty of reasons left to support his theory although I thought it was already enough to convince me. I am respectful for Shubin and his colleagues for their persistnece and intelligence.
