CH. 2 Getting A Grip
This weeks reading of chapter two felt a little more like reading about biology. It was interesting reading about all the diffrent comparisons that were made between human bones and fish bones and how they may be clues to the human existance. The chapter in general felt like a mystery unraveling with all the various aspects of how the history of life is connected with modern day being uncovered one by one. The illustrations were of big help when trying to think of what the bones that Neil Shubin were describing really looked like. One difficulty I had with this chapter was pronouncing the names of the species and bones that were discussed. It's fascinating how they come up with such complicated names. Chapter one was hard to comprehend on the points Shubin was trying to make about the tie between humans and fishes, but through chapter two, although not all of my curiosities were satisfied and answered, a lot has cleared up, and I look forward to continuing in Neil Shubin's interpretation of how life had come about for us.
