This chapter was indeed very interesting. I can connect to how Shubin felt while dissecting the cadaver because I myself have dissected a rat. I had no emotion at first while dissecting the rat but later after seeing the organs and hands I felt a strong emotional connection to the rat. I find this chapter interesting because like chapter 1 I can make a connection to it. I never knew that we were so closely related in bone structure to so many animals. I definitely never considered the possibility of humans being similar in bone structure to fish. But the truth is what it is. I really like how truthful Shubin is. He bluntly says how he felt and thought at the moment and I admire that. Though humans are very different from whales, bats, and birds; it is interesting to see that in a way we are similar which makes this chapter worthwhile. This chapter had definitely arose questions in my mind such as: How are we possibly connected to fish and how did our body evolve into what it is now? I am hoping this book and the further chapters will answer this question. So far I am intrigued by Shubin's writing styles and how he displays facts about human anatomy and its' connection to fish. These chapters definitely relate back to the title of the book Your Inner Fish because it relates humans back to fish.
