Chapter 1: Finding Your Inner Fish

Well, I was really diappointed that we had to read a book for biology because I thought it would just be facts and nothing else. But as I started reading, I realized that the book was actually very interesting. I like how the author is actually into his work and writes it in a way that is easy to understand and follow to those who are unfamiliar with paleontology. Furthermore, I saw how much patience , dedication, and hardwork it takes to do this job. Also the way Shubin wrote showed us the love he has for the things he found as well as how familiar he is with his work. Something I found interesting was how Shubin kept saying how humans and fish are similar because it made me contemplate whether I believe in the theory of evolution or not. And this is why I would like to keep reading the book: to see if I believe in the theory of evolution. Overall, I found the first chapter very captivating and would like to continue this journey with Shubin to find out more about him.
