Overall, this chapter wasn't as interesting for me as Chapter 1. I felt that Shubin was a bit redundant; he kept going on about Owen's "one bone, two bones, lotsa bones and five toes" theory, making me lose interest. Furthermore, Shubin listed several ancient fish that all contributed to the development of the human structure; it was a bit confusing when he talked about a certain species because I couldn't remember its significance. One is overwhelmed with the depth of information Shubin gives in order to make his point clear.
Having said that, I thought it was interesting when Shubin explained Tiktaalik's significance. I never would have thought that a fish could have such similar characteristics as a human. I also liked how Shubin connected his discoveries back to the human anatomy lab in the conclusion. He summed the chapter's main points articulately.
