After reading the first couple pages of this chapter I was hooked. I absolutely love dissecting animals, and I also have the stomach for it too. I thought that it must have been an amazing experience to be able to dissect a human the way that Shubin did. Although most people get nausea when it comes to dissecting, I would be thrilled to see how to human body (my body) works, and get to know myself at a completely different level.
Another section of the book that I found interesting was how closely related the human arm is to a theropod dinosaur, seal, bird, pterosaur , bat, penguin, and humpback whale. Which follows the pattern of one bone, followed by two bones, then little blobs, and then fingers and toes.
Also, another part of the book I found interesting was that a Tiktaalik’s body was capable to perform a type of push-up. As a read this I thought to myself, “Wow, an animal that small can do a push-up, while most people can’t!”
