When I started this chapter I was very much interested. Him talking about cadavers definitely piqued my interest. It definitely whetted my appetite for my obsession with death. The details of the dissection were descriptive and the part where he talked about the hand struck me curious. I tried to understand the correlation between the hand and humanity. Once I grasped the point he was making, it only made me appreciate the chapter more when he talked about the importance of the human arm compared to other animals.
But the chapter grew very dry as he discussed the discovery of other fishes with impossibly long names. Reading this just made me lose concentration as I started trying to pronounce the names in order to amuse myself. I think he went into too much detail describing the other discovered fishes because I forgot what he was talking about and thought "Who's this? Or what is he talking about now?" one too many times. Luckily I found my way back when he began discussing the wrist. I found it very amusing that the Tiktaalik had the ability to do push-ups. It really put evolution into perspective.
